About Radiotherapy Center

Radiotherapy, or radiation therapy, is a cancer treatment that uses high-energy rays, like X-rays, to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. It's one of the most commonly used cancer treatments, with around half of all cancer patients needing it at some point.

How It Works

  • Damaging DNA: Radiation damages the DNA of cancer cells, preventing them from growing and dividing
  • Precise targeting: Modern radiotherapy is very precise, aiming radiation beams directly at the cancer
  • External beam radiation: Most common type using X-rays from outside the body
  • Brachytherapy: Internal radiation using radioactive materials near tumor
